How to Download iOS 14 beta 2 in India?

Lets discuss about how to get iOS 14 beta 2 in India. It’s already mid of the year and as we all tech enthusiasts expected, Apple announced the next major upgrade to its smartphone operating system iOS at its WWDC 2020 virtual developer conference. And as usual, apple made some very big strides in terms of UI design and features.

In this article lets see how to Download iOS 14 Beta 2 in India. Apple fans know that apple doesn’t focus on the number of features that their OS offers, instead they focus on the quality of the features and enhancements that they offer. Some of the features like home screen widgets are present in android from 2014 period itself, but the usability of their widgets remain a big question mark till date. Only some of the widgets are well optimized and others are flops. Apple has got it all right this time unlike Android and other OS.

On july 7th Apple released the public Beta version of iOS 14 to its customers via cloud. You can get it Over the Air update wherever you are in the world.

A new home screen with the App Library | iOS 14 beta 2 in India

Apple and their backend developers are atlast changing the iOS home screen! With this new version of the software, you can actually remove apps any number of app shortcuts from your home screens, and even hide entire screens.

All that you have hidden or removed from the normal home screen will be stored as shortcuts in the app drawer like the last page called as App Library.

The App Library shows and groups the apps based on your usage of the app and even uses AI to categorize them into separate folders which you can access easily. One can also use the search bar at any screen by swiping down the empty screen area to access the search bar. The newest version of beta offers even a recently installed app folder and suggests apps that you are most likely to open during the time of your day in seperate folders. There are also other categories for your applications like Social, Health&fitness and tools. The list is literally endless. The only gripe that we faced is that you cant rename the folders that show up in the app library.

It is a truly amazing way to organize your iPhone’s home screen without losing access to all your stuff, and it is what most of us wanted from Apple for years to change to the iPhone’s home screen.

New Widgets on the Today view and home screen

Widgets truly isn’t a completely new feature to iOS because it was available previously also in iOS but in a vertical scroll down format. It was a separate page that one has to open up to access it. It was present in the leftmost page on the home screen..

With iOS 14, Apple has completely overhauled the widgets experience for its users bridging the gap between android and iOS. The new widgets can have more information and a bunch of new sizes, but most importantly, they can be dragged right off the Today view and onto your home screen.

Apple has also waived its magic wand to create a smart stack of widgets which no other operating system has before. This is what people say about apples, when they do it, they do it right! These stacked widgets also use artificial intelligence to show widgets of apps that have been frequently seen by you in the past.

Hey siri is now completely overhauled

Unlike Google Assistant Siri – the voice assistant for apple devices, when launched for use it would usually take up the whole screen. But starting from iOS 14 Siri’s full-screen takeover will finally become a thing of the past. When you trigger Siri in iOS 14, it will simply show the Siri “blob” at the bottom of your display, and a lot of the results will show as a rich notification at the top of your screen.

Picture-in-picture mode is here!

Like all the previous new features on iOS 14 this one is also inspired from Android. It was previously only available on iPad, the picture-in-picture mode is finally coming to all the supported iPhones with iOS 14. When watching a video on streaming services or while talking on a FaceTime call, you can simply swipe back to the home screen and whatever thing you may be doing at that time, those will continue to play in a little box, allowing you to keep using your iPhone for other things. You can drag the box all around the screen wherever you want, or swipe it off to the side to become a little tab, with the audio continuing to play.

Improvements in iMessages | iOS 14 beta 2 in India

iMessages is the most important mobile app in Apple’s arsenal at least for western countries like us and canada where use of whatsapp is not as widespread like in India. In iOS 14 Apple is bringing some major improvements to iMessages across iOS, iPadOS, and macOS.

Now you can pin up to nine conversations in the launch screen itself, keeping them at the top of your iMessages chat list. That is a huge stress buster to anyone who has a lot of different conversations going everyday, or just gets a lot of two-factor authentication codes over SMS.

Group conversations are getting a lot better, too. You’ll see images of everyone who is in the group, with the most recent people first, and can give groups a name and its own image, too. You can reply to messages in-line, so it’s easier to know that you’re replying to the thing Mike said four messages ago, instead of Carol’s more recent reply. And you can direct a message to a single person when you mention them by name, and even set Messages only to notify you when you are mentioned.

ARKit 4

Apple keeps expanding its augmented reality tools for developers, even if it isn’t making a lot of impressive features for users yet.

ARKit 4 tools let developers place Location Anchors so an AR object can occupy a specific place in the real world. Like a virtual sculpture in a public square.

What’s more, any device with an A12 Bionic chip or later can do facial tracking with the front camera, even if it is not a TrueDepth module—this could mean that Animoji and Memoji are coming to more devices.

There is a new Depth API that lets developers build 3D mesh environments and per-pixel depth information on the latest iPad Pro with its LiDAR scanner. Presumably these features will be important on future iPhone Pro models, too.

Apple’s car interface has a host of small but welcome improvements. There are new categories of apps allowed, including EV charging, parking, and food ordering apps.

You can ask Siri to share your ETA with someone, and it will send them a Message that lets them track your progress en route to your destination.

There are new developer tools for audio, messaging, and VoIP apps, which should allow developers to make better experiences in those app categories.

Oh, and your CarPlay interface can have a background wallpaper now, too.

There are some major improvements made to the following areas within the iOS as well;

  • Emoji updates
  • Updates to Apple maps
  • Camera improvements
  • Default email and browser apps
  • Facetime
  • Some small tweaks to apple keyboard
  • Privacy enhancements
