July 12, 2026

Lucknow, July 12 (IANS) As the political parties begin laying the groundwork for 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, a loaded comment from Samajwadi Party (SP) lawmaker has sparked debate in political circles over whom the message is intended at.

Anand Bhadauria, the SP MP from Dhaurahara constituency took to social media platform X to convey message to ticket aspirants, saying that he would neither advocate anyone’s candidature nor he has any favourable candidate and all those seeking to contest fight on party ticket should approach the top leadership.

He said in no uncertain terms that no ticket will be given based on anyone’s recommendations and it will be the party and party supremo Akhilesh Yadav who will decide and finalise the name of candidates.

The SP leader said that he has no personal liking or preference for any candidate and pledged to work with “full sincerity” to ensure the victory of whoever the party fields from seats falling into his constituency.

“My responsibility lies with the five Assembly constituencies within my Lok Sabha seat, Dhaurahara. I will sincerely strive for their victory (as I can never go against the party). Furthermore, I am not advocating for anyone in these five constituencies, nor do I have a preferred candidate. Whoever the party awards the ticket will be my candidate,” he wrote in a post on X.

Bhadauria also offered a suggestion for ticket aspirants, saying, “all of you should make your efforts to party’s national president. In any case, whenever you expect help from me according to your convenience, you see a treasure trove of virtues in us, and when hopelessness appears, you see no greater flaws on earth than in me. Because you praise us in private, but behind our back, only God is the master.”

Notably, the political activity has already started heating up months ahead of Assembly elections, with parties stepping up efforts to woo the electorate.

The comment by the SP MP is seen as a step in this direction to prepare the party cadre for high-stakes battle and also instil a sense of discipline and commitment towards the leadership.
